PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaluation method capable of simply calculating the creep characteristics of an aluminum alloy material, and a technique capable of quantifying the correlation properties of the creep characteristics, an alloy component and a texture state.;SOLUTION: Three test pieces 1, formed of the aluminum alloy material, are arranged at the apex positions of the regular triangle on a surface plate 2; a weight 3, capable of applying almost equal compression stress σ to three test pieces, is placed to be heated and held to a predetermined temperature T; the dimensional changes of three test pieces with the elapse of time are measured, and the relation between the average value ΔL of the dimensional change quantities of three test pieces and the elapse time (t) is approximated by Formula: ΔL=A×ln(t)+B (where A and B are constants determined for each alloy material, applied compression stress σ and heated and held temperature T) for formulating the creep characteristics of the alloy material.
