Aircraft`s e.g. military transport aircraft, steering assisting method, involves determining glide path permitting to fly from safety altitude to decision height, where path is secured with respect to overflight terrain
The method involves determining a glide path permitting to fly from a safety altitude to a decision height using information available on an aircraft, where the glide path is secured with respect to an overflight terrain. The aircraft is guided along the glide path by a guidance system (5) until the decision altitude, during a descent phase. The aircraft is guided till the safety altitude if visual meteorological conditions are not verified at the decision altitude. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for assisting steering of an aircraft (2) an aircraft comprising a device for assisting steering of an aircraft.
