Aircraft`s e.g. civil transport aircraft, steering assisting method, involves determining minimal decision height corresponding to arrival instant based on performances of satellite localization unit and arrival characteristics of aircraft
The method involves determining an estimated arrival instant of an aircraft on a landing runway, by a calculation unit (36). Prediction of performances of a satellite localization unit (12) of the aircraft at the instant is determined by a prediction unit (38). Minimal decision height corresponding to the instant is determined based on the performances of the localization unit and arrival characteristics of the aircraft. The minimal decision height is displayed on a visual display unit (21) of a visual display (20) of a cockpit of the aircraft, to a pilot of the aircraft. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for assisting steering of aircraft, comprising localization unit assembly (2) an aircraft comprising a steering assisting device for implementing a method for assisting steering of aircraft.
