Circuit e.g. furnace roof/panel cooling circuit, controlling method for e.g. electric arc furnace, involves processing signals of fluid flow/flow variation by calculating intercorrelation function of signals to detect fluid leakage
The method involves detecting circulating fluid using inlet and outlet sensors e.g. electromagnetic flowmeters, which are positioned at an inlet and an outlet of a circuit, respectively, where the sensors deliver characteristics of measurement signals (Et, St) of fluid flow or flow variation. The signals are processed by calculating an intercorrelation function of the measurement signals for detecting a fluid leakage in the circuit. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an installation comprising a circuit (2) a program stored on a medium or memory for implementing a circuit controlling method.
