Process for the acceleration of the induction of in vitro somatic mutations, comprises expression of complementary DNA (cDNA) expressing a modified version of activation induced cytidine deaminase (AID) gene, in which three hydrophobic amino acids leu189, phe193 and leu196 are replaced by mutation by alanine, in the cells to be mutated under culture and medium conditions. Independent claims are included for: (1) a coding sequence of mutated nucleotidic human AID, represented, with the peptide coded by the AID gene mutant comprising a fully defined 597 amino acid (SEQ ID No. 1) sequence given in the specification; (2) kit for the induction of somatic mutations, comprises an inductive system of accelerated somatic mutations; and (3) complementary DNA comprising expression of a modified AID gene, in which one of the three hydrophobic amino acid such as Leu189, Phe193, and Leu196 of the human AID is mutated by alanine.
