The system has a robot control, connected with a robot, implementing a control program including control system parameters, where the robot is operated in compliance with the parameters. A personal computer (PC) is connected with the robot control and a robot power data monitoring unit, such that the PC responds to the robot power data (22) to use the optimization routines and to change the system parameter in real time. The monitoring unit monitors the actual power data of the robot during the operation of the robot. An independent claim is also included for a method for optimization of a robot path program within given specifications and acceptance variations.
