Pedestrian protection system for use in vehicle, has viewing device for vehicle driver designed such that it allows driver to view area that is covered by airbag, where viewing device is configured as viewing window in airbag
The system has acceleration and radar sensors (B, R) generating a signal depending on a position of a pedestrian, and a microcontroller generating a control signal depending on the signal. An airbag device (A) is arranged outside at a periphery of a vehicle and unfolds an airbag depending on the control signal. A viewing device (10) for a driver of the vehicle allows the driver to view on an area that is covered by the airbag. The viewing device is configured as a viewing window in the airbag.
