The system has a communications interface (15) to connect a mouse with a computer, which can accomplish a changeover in a fast input mode. A control command can be defined and a fast input unit (12) can be preset as release key in the mode. The command and the definition of the key are stored in an instruction counter of a mouse through the interface. An interpreter (141) accesses the command in the counter and interprets the command, when the key is pressed, where the interpreted control command is transferred to the computer through the interface, such that the computer executes the command.
