Fuel e.g. petrol, injection system e.g. common rail injection system, controlling method for use in motor vehicle, involves carrying out pressure wave correction based on physical model describing wave effect on opening behavior of injector
The method involves dividing a fuel dosage into two partial fuel injections, and correcting a control signal determining the fuel quantity injected by an injector, based on the pressure wave influence of the two fuel injections. The pressure wave correction is carried out based on a physical model, which describes the effect of the pressure wave on the opening behavior of injectors. The pressure wave correction of the pressure gradients at the injectors takes place. An independent claim is also included for a control device for controlling an injection system having an injector, in an internal combustion engine.
