A diesel engine is fuelled by a combination of vegetable oil and diesel fuel in a ratio determined by the nature of the exhaust gas emissions. The exhaust gas system (14) incorporates a measuring sensor (15) that is coupled to a control unit (16). The control unit is in turned linked to an electric motor (16) that determines the fuel mixture ratio to minimize the exhaust gases and soot particle emissions.
