COMPOSITION COMPRISING A MONOMER COMPOUND EXHIBITING AN OPTICAL PROPERTY, METHOD MAKING USE OF SAID COMPOSITION, A MONOMER COMPOUND AND A POLYMER CONTAINING SAID MONOMER COMPOUND AND THE USE THEREOF
1,8-Naphthalenedicarboxylic acid imide derivative (I) containing an unsaturated polymerizable group is new. Naphthalimide derivative of formula (I) is new. R2, R3H, halo or 1-30C linear, branched and/or cyclic, optionally unsaturated radical (optionally substituted with oxo, OH, NH2 or halo and/or optionally interrupted by heteroatoms (O, N, P, Si or S)); X, X' : -O-, -S-, -SO-, -SO2-, -NH- or -NR4-; R41-30C linear, branched and/or cyclic, optionally unsaturated radical (optionally substituted with oxo, OH, NH2 or halo and/or optionally interrupted by heteroatoms (O, N, P, Si or S)); n, m, p : 0-1; G : 1-30C linear, branched and/or cyclic, optionally unsaturated divalent radical (optionally substituted by O, OH, NH2 or halo and/or optionally interrupted by heteroatoms (O, N, P, Si or S)); P : polymerizable group of formulae (H2C=C(Rb)-C(=O)- (II), (H2C=C(Rb)-(CH2)n- (IIa) or vinyl-benzene (linked via (CH2)m-); and Rb : H or 1-6C hydrocarbon. When R2 is H and P is polymerizable group (IIa), then XaR3 is different from OCH3; when R2 is H, P is polymerizable group (II), X is O, NH or NR4 and Xa is O, S or NR4, then R3 is 2-5C alkyl, 7-24C alkyl or 5-18C cyclic alkyl (all optionally substituted and/or optionally interrupted).
