PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide silicon dioxide prepared by a pyrolysis process.;SOLUTION: The silicon dioxide prepared by the pyrolysis process has the physico-mechanical properties of a) an average grain size (D50 value) exceeding D50≥150 nm (dynamic light scattering method, 30 mass%), b) viscosity (5 RPM, 30 mass%) η≤100 m-Pas, c) thixotropy ti[η(5 RPM)/η(50 RPM)]≤2, d) BET- surface area 30 to 60 m2/g, e) tamping density SD=100 to 160 g/l and f) initial pH value ≤4.5.
