PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for measuring the content of a petroleum hydrocarbon component simply without using extract to a soil including the wide petroleum hydrocarbon content from a light fraction to a middle/heavy fraction.;SOLUTION: A sample soil is loaded in a sample chamber 2 provided in an electric furnace 1a, and the petroleum hydrocarbon component included in the soil is vaporized by heating. Then, mixed gas of oxygen and nitrogen is blown into an air blowing passage 5a on the tip part of the sample chamber, and the hydrocarbon component vaporized thereby is sent into a reaction chamber 3 filled with an oxidation catalyst layer 4, to thereby perform perfect combustion, and the amount of generated carbon dioxide is measured by a carbon dioxide measuring part 6, and the content of the petroleum hydrocarbon component included in the soil is measured by the amount of carbon dioxide.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
