PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method suitable for mass-production of gelatine with low endotoxin content, and to provide a gelatin with low endotoxin content. PSOLUTION: The invention relates to the method for producing gelatin with reduced amount of endotoxin from a raw material for gelatin containing endotoxin. The method provides a gelatin containing liquid with reduced endotoxin content by subjecting the raw material liquid containing the gelatin and endotoxin to an ultrafiltration membrane treatment wherein the ultrafiltration membrane has 20,000-300,000 of fractionation mol.wt, and permeating at least a part of the gelatin contained in the raw material gelatin liquid. The invention relates to the gelatin having 1,000-300,000 of average molecular weight and less than 1 EU/ml of endotoxin per 1.0% of protein. PCOPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
