The invention relates to a process for the prevention of the effects of the protons of solar origin, allowing a reconfiguration of a star sensor. It also relates to a system for implementing it, which comprises: means (30) for detecting the arrival of rash of protons of solar origin, providing a control signal, - of the means (33) of triggering the operation of the second sensor (2) of a star in the continuation mode on the basis of data supplied by the first attitude sensor (1) of a star, these means being activated by said control signal.
