Computerized patient data information system permits linking of computers holding patient data via a tunneled network with local bridge computers and associated index computers that contain patient identification information
Patient data information system comprises networked local computers of doctors and hospitals that are connected in a tunneled network via a bridge computer. Data relating to the place of work are stored in the bridge computer so that they cannot be modified. The network has an associated index computer in which identification features of individual patients are input. The index computer merges the bridge computers relevant for a data inquiry by means of said patient identification features and then disconnects itself.
