The constructional form of the husky dog-sled is a three-tube design. The material is extremely light weight with a minimal weight plus load mass and very similar to a ship's, sailing boat's, or yacht's hull construction. The material has to have especially good insulation to provided protection against extreme polar ice nights and coldness. The design has a half-round Steven constructional form which is raised at the front and rear and is similar to the ancient historical Wickinger sailing ships.
