Independent claims are included for: (1) an article with a band of electrical insulation comprising a polymer, e.g. polyester; (2) electrical insulation for high temperature superconducting wire of thickness less than 10 micron and dielectric strength more than 50 v/micron; (3) a method of preparing electrical insulation, e.g. in thin polymer film.
