Multifunctional control of water quality in open watercourses, especially on open mining lakes and running water, involves introducing fine-grained alkaline material in embankment and/or dump regions in the relevant bed regions
The method involves introducing fine-grained alkaline material in embankment and/or dump regions on open mining lakes or running waters into which acidic ground water flows with a granule size of less than 0.2 mm and a concentration of less than 10 per cent with a layer thickness of up to 5 m in the relevant bed region and fine-grained alkaline materials with a grain size less than 2 mm with a concentration of greater than 3 per cent and a layer thickness of up to 2 m on open mining lakes in the outlet region and in the embankment region concerned.
