The method involves identifying a test rail pressure for a fuel injector (34) based on an established baseline injection delay curve that represents delay of the injector in a range of rail pressures. An injection delay for the selected injector is determined at the rail pressure, and an injection delay based on the curve and the measured delay of the selected injector at the identified pressure is estimated. An independent claim is also included for a fuel injection control system.
