Sol-gel coating solution for later production of transparent lithium-ion storage layer for electrochromic system, with cerium (Ce) and titanium (Ti) salts in Ce:Ti molar ratio over 0.5:1 and under 1:1 and 1-4 carbon alcohol(s) (I) as solvent, has total Ce and Ti salt concentration of 0.1-1, preferably 0.2-0.5 mole/l and also contains (I)-soluble organic pore-former with boiling/decomposition temperature below hardening temperature of Ce, Ti and/or mixed oxide. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) preparation of the sol-gel coating solution; (2) production of a transparent lithium-ion storage layer for electrochromic systems using the solution.
