PURPOSE: A method for in vitro culture of Orostachys japonicus which produces oligosaccharides having physiological activity and a method for producing seedlings of Orostachys japonicus through ex vitro acclimatization are provided. The Orostachys japonicus and oligosaccharides produced therefrom have improved anticancer, antimicrobial and anti-hypertension activity, and the method produces Orostachys japonicus rapidly and massively. CONSTITUTION: The method for in vitro culture of Orostachys japonicus producing oligosaccharides having physiological activity comprises explanting the stem of Orostachys japonicus on an MS agar medium containing 3%(w/v) of sugar, 1.0 mg/l of IBA and 0.3%(w/v) of gelite, wherein the MS medium further contains 0.1 mg/l of cytokine such as benzyladenine. The method for producing seedlings of Orostachys japonicus comprises ex vitro acclimatization of the in vitro cultured stem of Orostachys japonicus in the soil consisting of perlite and vermiculite in a ratio of 1:1.
