PURPOSE: A cryopreservation medium composition of an amniotic membrane containing a Portulaca oleracea extract is provided. It supplies effective nutrition to an amniotic membrane during the operation of the amniotic membrane, reduces the possibility of a rejection reaction and causes fast epidermal regeneration and wound healing after operation. CONSTITUTION: The cryopreservation medium composition for treatment of ocular surface disease contains 49.5 to 85% by weight of a medium, 14.5 to 50% by weight of a cryopreservative and 0.0005 to 0.0015% by weight of epigallocatechin gallate, 0.05 to 0.5% by weight of Portulaca oleracea L. or 0.0005 to 0.5% by weight of a mixture thereof as an antioxidant. The medium is selected from EMEM(Eagle's Minimal Essential Medium), RPMI 1640 and DMEM(Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium) and the cryopreservative is selected from glycerol and DMSO.
