PRODUCTION OF CHESTNUT BEVERAGE HAVING ANTICANCER AND ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY BY MIXING EXTRACT OF CHESTNUT INNER SKIN WHICH HAS HITHERTO BEEN DISCARDED, GREEN TEA LEAF EXTRACT AND POLYGONATUM ODORATUM EXTRACT
PRODUCTION OF CHESTNUT BEVERAGE HAVING ANTICANCER AND ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY BY MIXING EXTRACT OF CHESTNUT INNER SKIN WHICH HAS HITHERTO BEEN DISCARDED, GREEN TEA LEAF EXTRACT AND POLYGONATUM ODORATUM EXTRACT
PURPOSE: A method of making a chestnut beverage by mixing chestnut inner skin extract, green tea leaf extract and Polygonatum odoratum extract is provided. It reutilizes the astringent skin of chestnuts which has hitherto been discarded and produces the drink having anticancer and antioxidant activity. CONSTITUTION: The chestnut beverage contains 60 to 70% by weight of a hot water extract of inner skin of a chestnut, 15 to 25% by weight of a hot water extract of green tea leaves, 5 to 15% by weight of a hot water extract of Polygonatum odoratum, 3 to 7% by weight of high fructose corn syrup, 1 to 3% by weight of oligosaccharide and 0.04 to 0.06% by weight of citric acid. The chestnut extract, green tea extract and Polygonatum odoratum extract have 0.4 Brix, 0.2 Brix and 2 Brix respectively.
