A TRF2 DNA-binding domain mutant protein represented by the following (a) or(b) or its salt. (a) A protein having an amino acid sequence derived from theamino acid sequence of wild type hTRF2 DNA-binding domain by at least onesubstitution selected from among the substitution of lysine at the 10-positioninto arginine, the substitution of alanine at the 34-position into serine, thesubstitution of alanine at the 47-position into serine and the substitution ofarginine at the 59-position into lysine. (b) A protein having an amino acidsequence derived form the amino acid sequence of the protein of the above (a)by deletion, substitution or addition of one to several amino acids other thanthe amino acid at the 10-position, the amino acid at the 34-position, theamino acid at the 47-position and the amino acid at the 59-position, and beingsuperior in the ability to binding to a double-stranded DNA containing asequence represented by 5~-TTAGGG-3~ to wild type TRF2 DNA-binding domainhaving the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:2.
