A method for assessing the technical and tactic skills in basketball involves estimation of the major technical and tactic parameters of the sportsman, the calculation of the integral index of the technical and tactic skills, and the assessment of the technical and tactic skills based on the calculated score. In addition the following ratios are calculated: the ratio of the individuals scores taken by the individual player to the overall score of the team; the ratio of the successful throws of the ball to the total number of the throws of the sane player; the time in play for the particular player as a fraction of the total time of the game. The index of the technical and tactic skills is used as an integral parameter.
