This refers to a New Gene that encodes a Transcription Factor induced by water deficit or abscisic acid in Helianthus annuus is a homeodomain associated to closure of leucines. The transcription factor is useful to be cloned DNA constructs for Transforming host cells and plants.The transgenic plants comprising the transcription factor are tolerant to adverse environmental conditions such as water stress and High Salinity. It also provides a Nucleic Acid Sequence Promoter inducible by water deficit or abscisic acid, constructs, host cells and transgenic plants comprising it.Claim 1: an isolated Nucleic Acid Molecule that encodes the transcription factor HAHB - 4, a functional Active fragment or Variant has the same Nucleic Acid Sequence SEQ ID no. 1 or a fragment thereof.
