Method for calibration of a network analyzer (NWA) having at least four measurement ports (T1-T12) has the following steps: connection of each port to at least three known one port standards (ET-O, ET-S, ET-M) and execution of a one port calibration using a reflection measurement; formation of at least a port group (G) initially containing 3 ports, interconnection of the ports using a known two port standard and two-port calibration using 10-term method; and successive expansion of the group by addition of further ports followed by two-port calibration and transmission measurements in both directions.
