PURPOSE: A method for enhancement of cell productivity by reducing photosynthetic pigments from photosynthetic cells is provided, thereby reducing photoinhibition at high intensity of light and showing high productivity at high concentration cultivation, so that the method can be useful in various industrial fields using photosynthetic cell cultivation. CONSTITUTION: The method for enhancement of cell productivity comprises reducing photosynthetic pigments from photosynthetic cells by inhibiting expression of photo-absorbing materials present in a photosystem of photosynthetic cells, wherein the expression inhibition of photo-absorbing materials is achieved by removing a gene expressing the photo-absorbing material 2 of photosynthetic cells; the photosynthetic cells include algae including photosynthetic bacteria, Cyano bacteria, red tide microalgae, cryptomonad algae and microalgae, and plants; the photosynthetic bacteria is Rhodobacter sphaeroides; and the photosynthetic pigment is selected from chlorophyll, carotenoid and phycobilin.
