PURPOSE: A magnetic resonance imaging device and a method thereof are provided to shorten the echo interval by forming flow pulse with a phase code gradient magnetic field and to separate the artery and the vein by applying flow pulse with the sufficient intensity. CONSTITUTION: A magnetic resonance imaging device comprises a radio frequency coil(7) generating radio frequency pulse to the object and receiving the magnetic resonance signal from the object; a gradient magnetic field coil(3) generating the gradient magnetic field for slice selection, the gradient magnetic field for phase coding and the gradient magnetic field for frequency coding; a calculation unit(10) generating image data based on the magnetic resonance signal; and a sequence controller(5) controlling the second gradient magnetic field coil to generate the flow pulse for dephase or rephase of spin of blood circulation to the phase coding gradient magnetic field.
