PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for attaching a label and an article package, which prevent unlawful effluence (theft and the like) of the prize-application label to be attached to the packaged article and prevent application to a prize competition using the unlawfully acquired label.;SOLUTION: An attachment verifying print pattern (S) is formed on a prize-application label (1) in a label attaching process for attaching the label (1) to an article package in order to certify the label (1) as a one attached to the packaged article (6) and good for the prize-winning competition. The attachment verifying print pattern (S) comprises not less than one kind of elements, such as characters, figures, marks, and the like, which are formed, for example, through a heat coloring reaction of a heat coloring ink layer or a transfer on a hologram metallic foil. The history of a label for the prize-wining competition, that is, whether the label is a one attached to an article package or unlawfully acquired, can be easily, yet precisely, judged by checking if the attachment verifying print pattern (S) is attached or not.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
