Simulation or emulation of variable-reluctance electrical machine, e.g. vehicle starter-generator, uses model of machine created from current and voltage sources and variable inductance, and function tables to adjust supply to model
The emulator has an electrical source (1) and a converter (2) powered by the source to produce supply potentials for a variable reluctance machine. The machine is modeled (3) using current and voltage sources and a variable inductance, and the model supplied by the converter. The converter is controlled using function tables (5) relating to the operating point of the machine.
