The automated transmission has control modules (100,101,111,200) to operate the clutch (112), control modules (130,131) to actuate the gear ratio selector, and control modules (100,101,121,200) to actuate the gear ratio engagement (122). The clutch and gear engagement use a common actuator and a selective coupler (200) to link the common actuator to either clutch or gear engagement.
