Method for calculating meteorological index, comprises measurement of meteorological quantity for particular location and establishment of economic/demographic data for region including location
A national index for temperatures and populations is found by taking the sum of regional (4) populations and average temperatures at main locations (6) within them and dividing by the sum of the regional populations. Indices for particular cities may be found from relationships with a small number of reference stations. Meteorological stations (12) are linked to electronic processing (14) and a database (16) Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an installation for producing meteorological index; (2) electronic data processing; (3) means to record a data processing program.
