The sound absorber for deep frequencies is for damping the sound effect in small to medium-sized rooms, particularly where music is recorded or reproduced, and for regulation of the reverberation duration. The absorber comprises a metal frame (3) and several different thin plates (1) (metal, wood or plastic). It also comprises mineral fiber (2) with a ''spring and damping'' effect. The distance between the thin plates is so selected that the apparent depth of the chamber is smaller with increasing frequency. The frame holds the thin plates and the mineral fiber and is fixed to a wall. Between the frame and the wall a foam material can be inserted to improve the sound absorption effect.
