Interchangeable device has sector-like clamping jaws (21-23) arranged around a central electrode insertion region (E) in a fixed holder (1). Jaws each eccentrically pivot with respect to the clamping surface (24-26). Jaws are impinged by a spring (4) which clamps the electrodes (E1, E2) inserted into the electrode insertion region. Jaws have a sector angle of approximately 90 deg with a radius of four to six times larger than the electrode radius. Preferred Features: The clamping surfaces support a profile which increases the friction value and has a phase directed outward.
