Method of operating a refrigeration system using a refrigerant circuit, in which, for condensing the refrigerant in said circuit a cooling circuit water, incorporating an evaporative condenser, complementing evaporation losses from said condenser is used by feedwater which is supplied to the condenser through a heat exchanger through which the coolant of the cooling circuit is subcooled, characterized in that the method comprises the following steps: measuring the mass flow of feedwater supplied through exchanger heat, measuring the temperature difference of the feedwater before it is used to cool the refrigerant and after being used to cool the refrigerant, calculating the amount of heat that has been transferred to the water, measuring the temperature difference refrigerant before being cooled feedwater and after being cooled feedwater to determine the mass flow rate of refrigerant depending on the amount of yielded the calculated water heat and the temperature difference measured in the refrigerant, measuring the suction pressure (Po) and pressure condenser (Pc), respectively, of the refrigerant, using the measured suction pressure (Po) and the condenser pressure (Pc) and the refrigerant mass flow rate to determine the ability of instantaneous cooling (Qo) values, and use this capacity flash cooling (Qo) of expediently.
