"EXTENDED RELEASE DRUG APPLICATION SYSTEM, AND METHODS FOR THE TREATMENT OF A MAMMALIAN ORGANISM, TO PROVIDE CONTROLLED AND PROLONGED ADMINISTRATION TO OBTAIN A PHYSICAL OR PHARMACOLOGICAL OR PHARMACOLOGICAL PHYSICAL EFFECTIVE EFFECT DRUG APPLICATION SYSTEM ". A method and device for treating a mammalian organism to obtain a desired local or systemic physiological or pharmacological effect is provided. The method includes administering a sustained release drug delivery system to a mammalian organism in need of such treatment to an area where release of an effective agent is desired and to allow the effective agent to pass through the device of a controlled way. The device includes an inner core or reservoir that includes the effective agent, an impermeable tube enclosing portions of the reservoir and an element permeable to one end of the tube.
