PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a fluorenyl-cyclopentadienyl ligand having a silyl bridge, and to provide a method for producing the fluorenyl- cyclopentadienyl metallocene having a silyl bridge. SOLUTION: This method for producing the compound of formula IV (R1 and R2 are each a 1 to 20C hydrocarbon group; R3 to R10 are each H, a halogen or a 1 to 20C hydrocarbon group; R11 to R14 are each H or a 1 to 20C hydrocarbon group; L is zirconium, hafnium or titanium) comprises a process for removing a proton from a compound of formula I with a base, a process for reacting the proton-removed compound with R1 R2 SiCl2 to obtain the compound of formula II, a process for reacting the obtained compound of formula II with M+ Cp- (M is Li, Na, K, MgCl or MgBr; Cp is a non-substituted or substituted cyclopentadienyl) to obtain the compound of formula III, and a process for reacting the compound of formula III with a base and adding LCl4 .
