HIERARCHICAL IMAGE BASE REPRESENTATION OF THREE- DIMENSIONAL STATIC OR DYNAMIC OBJECT, AND METHOD AND DEVICE FOR USING REPRESENTATION IN RENDERING OF OBJECT
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide hierarchical image base representation of a three- dimensional static or dynamic object, and a rendering method and device.;SOLUTION: An original data of the three-dimensional object is converted into a binary volume octree (BVO) format so that a color of respective BVO in correspondence with a coordinate of a point belonging to a surface of the object is an average color of a point on a surface of an object having a coordinate in an inside of a cube showing a voxel which is a three-dimensional image element in correspondence with the VBO vertex. A local three-dimensional coordinate in a center of the voxel corresponding to a BVO leaf is calculated, and the coordinate is converted into information about a two-dimensional coordinate having a center at the voxel and a size of the voxel image projected. With respect to the respective BVO leaf, a splat covering the projected voxel image region is generated and is displayed with the usage of color information. The BVO is rendered by hierarchically traversing the octree from a root vertex to the leaf. Thus, the three-dimensional object is visualized.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
