PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new examination method for liver cancer crisis risk based on identification of a highly carcinogenic hepatitis C virus strain, a primer useful for the examination method and a reagent kit useful for the examination method.;SOLUTION: The examination method for predicting the liver cancer crisis risk comprises amplifying an NS3 amino-terminal domain on a hepatitis C virus gene by using a primer represented by sequence numbers 1-4 (reference to the specification) by a PCR method, determining the base sequence of the obtained amplified DNA fragment, analyzing the secondary structure of a protein part encoding the base sequence and identifying a highly carcinogenic hepatitis C virus strain.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
