PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data processing unit capable of providing information on safety in clinical research on a clear and optimum basis reflecting the characteristics of clinical research. PSOLUTION: The clinical research data processing unit manages clinical research result data including the test subject identification, the date of clinical research, and the result of the clinical research. The unit memorizes in advance the standard range, in which a normal result is to fall, dependent on the age of the test subject, and also memorizes the birth date of the test subject as related to the test subject identification. The age of the test subject is calculated by use of the birth date and the date of clinical research. A standard range is selected for the age thus calculated and, in the presence of data in the clinical research result that is out of the selected range, a warning is given that the result is abnormal.
