PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radar system capable of discriminating simultaneously many adjacent targets with high resolution.;SOLUTION: In this radar system, radar response is processed, and first and second adjacent range/doppler cells are generated. First and second dichotomous angle measured values corresponding to the radar response at the first and second adjacent range/doppler cells are acquired in the cells. Then, it is determined whether the first and second angle measured values correspond respect to the first and second targets at the first and second range/doppler cells or not, by applying an adaptive threshold to the angle measured values. Dichotomous processing is executed in this way relative to data having correlation even in a range, to thereby acquire the high-level target discrimination ability, and the second target or the second target group can be discriminated based on the range.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
