Seismic exploration for predicting sub-surface oil and gas reservoirs in land and marine environments, involves generating seismic signals at survey site by dropping mass on earth's surface
Seismic signals are generated at a seismic survey site by dropping a mass such as a volume of concrete or ice, onto the survey site from an overflying aircraft (16). The seismic signals are detected by multiple seismic sensors (10) arranged within the seismic survey site.
