The rotary printing machine has a printing plate (5) clamped to the plate cylinder (1) by pairs of clamping bars (3.1,4.1) and (3.2,4.2). The clamping bars are installed in a longitudinal slot (2) in the periphery of the plate cylinder. Each end of the printing plate is gripped between the members of each pair of bars (3.1,4.1) or (3.2,4.2). The clamping plate is subjected to longitudinal tension by rotatable cams (7) and (14) which are mounted on shafts which can be rotated by external handles (9,16). If the printing plate has been set askew, this fault can be corrected by adjusting screws (6) which are screwed into tapped holes in the clamping bars and abut against the cams (7). USE/ADVANTAGE - The printing plate is easily aligned with the sheets being printed.
