System comprises at least one sensor device (12) for detection of wheel speed of at least two wheels and a data processing device (16) that determines the motion behavior of two wheels with respect to each other from the wheel speed values. The data processing device determines at least one cornering motion quantity from one of the determined wheel motion behaviors. Independent claims are made for a control system for driving behavior of a vehicle particularly with respect to slip, turning curves and or yawing velocity and a method for control and regulation of handling characteristics of a motor vehicle.
