Infrared detector used for a thermal imaging device, e.g. a night viewer comprises a detector hybrid with detector elements and a radiation-facing surface having a structure for reducing retro-reflection
Infrared (IR) detector comprises a one or two dimensional detector hybrid (15) with detector elements. The radiation-facing surface (16) of the hybrid has a structure for reducing retro-reflection. An Independent claim is also included for a process for the production of the IR detector comprising forming a structure on the whole wafer of the IR detector material using photolithography and wet and dry etching. Preferred Features: The normal (6) of the radiation-facing surface of each detector element is tilted at an angle to the optical axis (7) of a thermal imaging device. The angle is sufficient is sufficiently large enough to reflect radiation into a screen.
