The heat exchanger (4) has at least one initial channel for a flow of fluid (1) to deliver heat, and a second channel for a flow of fluid (2) to receive the heat. At least one heat transfer wall (3) is between the channels, with at least one fluid passage (1a,1b) in the wall. The channel dividing wall can be porous, e.g. of a ceramic material.
