Disclosed are a method for treating industrial wastewater and an apparatus for performing the same, which effectively prevent and decompose environmental pollution by effectively decomposing and removing various toxic / hardly decomposable compounds contained in wastewater discharged from various industries. In the method for treating industrial wastewater according to the present invention, ozone, hydrogen peroxide or the like is irradiated with low-frequency ultrasonic / oxidant treatment tanks and high-frequency ultrasonic waves of 20 to 50 kHz and 100 kHz or higher, respectively. Oxygen is injected into the oxidizing aid to primarily decompose various hardly decomposable compounds contained in the wastewater. Next, the primary decomposable hardly decomposable industrial wastewater is completely purified in a biological treatment tank secondly, thereby effectively decomposing and purifying various toxic / hardly decomposable compounds contained in the industrial wastewater.
