PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently determine correctness of a medical cost. SOLUTION: This insurance system comprising a client computer 10 on the hospital side to request the medical cost to a subject having insurance, and a server computer 30 on the insurance company side to make payment procedures for the medical cost is provided with a means 11 to read medical data on a health insurance card, a means 13 to input a medical sheet including contents of medical examination and treatment and the medical cost to the subject, and a means to make a bill for the medical cost based on the inputted medical sheet. The server computer 30 is provided with a data table to store standard values for the medical cost corresponding to the contents of medical examination and treatment, a means 32 to compare the medical cost with the standard value related to the content of medical examination and treatment stored in the data table, and assess the charged medical cost, and a means 34 to form a bill for payment when the medical cost is requested.
